Zambia's Copper Queens surrendered a 3-1 lead to settle for a 3-3 draw against Switzerland in their pre-Women's World Cup friendly match on Friday night.

In a thrilling encounter, Zambia's national women's football team, known as the Copper Queens, battled to a draw against Switzerland in their ninth preparatory match for the upcoming Women's World Cup.

The match, held on Friday night, provided both teams with a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the highly anticipated tournament.

Switzerland took an early lead in the 8th minute when Anna-Maria Crnogorcevic brilliantly found the back of the net. However, Zambia quickly retaliated, with Grace Chanda equalizing in the 13th minute, skillfully assisted by Rachael Kundananji.

The Copper Queens didn't settle for parity and continued to display their attacking prowess. Their efforts were rewarded in the 20th minute when Barbra Banda confidently put them in the lead. Kundananji further bolstered Zambia's advantage just before halftime, scoring a sensational goal in the 45th minute. The first half concluded with Zambia holding a commanding 1-3 lead.

After the break, Switzerland showed resilience and determination to turn the tide of the match. Their perseverance paid off in the 54th minute, as Seraina Piubel found the back of the net, narrowing the deficit to 2-3.

Switzerland persisted in their attacking endeavors, and following some key substitutions, including Banda, Susan Katongo, and goalkeeper Hazel Nali, they managed to find the equalizer in the 81st minute courtesy of a goal by Coumba Sow.
