Welcome to the Legal Bodies of CAF
The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and governance in African football. To ensure fair play, transparency, and compliance with regulations, CAF has established several key legal bodies that oversee disciplinary matters, appeals, auditing, and governance. These bodies play a crucial role in maintaining the credibility and ethical conduct of CAF and its stakeholders. By operating independently and objectively, they help safeguard the integrity of African football and ensure that all members adhere to CAF’s principles and regulations.
Our Legal Bodies
Disciplinary Board
The Disciplinary Board is responsible for enforcing CAF’s regulations, ensuring that competitions are conducted fairly, and taking action against breaches of rules and ethical standards. It investigates misconduct, imposes sanctions where necessary, and ensures that football remains a sport characterized by respect and professionalism.
Appeal Board
The Appeal Board provides an independent review of disciplinary decisions, allowing for fair and transparent processes in cases of disputes or sanctions. This body ensures that all parties have the opportunity to challenge disciplinary actions and that decisions are made in line with CAF’s regulations and principles of justice.
Audit and Compliance Committee
This committee ensures financial integrity within CAF, overseeing financial controls, risk management, and adherence to compliance standards. By conducting independent audits and monitoring CAF’s financial operations, the committee helps prevent financial misconduct and promotes accountability within the organization.
Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is tasked with promoting ethical leadership, reviewing eligibility criteria for officials, and ensuring CAF operates under best governance practices. It works to enhance transparency, strengthen decision-making processes, and uphold the integrity of football administration at all levels.
Each of these legal bodies operates with independence and professionalism to ensure that CAF’s statutes and values are upheld across all levels of African football. Their work is fundamental in maintaining CAF’s credibility and ensuring that all its stakeholders, from players and officials to clubs and federations, adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
