Ampem Darkoa and Delta Queens clash in WAFU Zone B final showdown

The CAF Women's Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers will reach its conclusion on Thursday when Ghana's Ampem Darkoa and Nigeria's Delta Queens meet in the final.

Ampem booked their place in the decider after a dominant 6-1 semi-final victory over Benin's Sam Nelly on Monday.

Led by a Tracey Twum hat-trick, the Ghanaian champions ruthlessly dispatched their opponents to underline their credentials.

Delta Queens required extra time to see off Ivory Coast's Athletico FC 3-2 in a dramatic semi-final on Monday.

The Nigerian side came from behind to force additional periods before completing the comeback win.

The two victors will now face off at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Thursday with everything on the line.

The prize at stake is a place at the CAF Women's Champions League finals in Cote d'Ivoire later this year.

Ampem Darkoa's free-scoring form makes them favourites, having netted 13 goals in their three matches so far.

But Delta have shown resolve and attacking potency of their own during an unbeaten campaign.

With both clubs desperate to represent WAFU Zone B at the Champions League, an enthralling final contest awaits.

The winner will be eager to become the club from the zone to participate at Africa's new elite women's club competition.
